Idea 1. A graphic identity of an architect - for example Le Corbusier based on their architectural principles and theories.
Idea 2. The design of a typeface based on architectural/sculptural/graphic principles outlines in Modernist design theory.
Idea 3. A graphic outcome that shows the use of unified design- Using type, architectural space, colour theory, and geometry.
These three ideas I explained to a fellow student and we spoke about the possible outcomes, which idea he felt was best and what is best moving forward.
With ideas 1 he felt this idea would be the most suitable to transfer the principles of the essay into the practical work. Yet he suggested testing this idea out before ruling out the other ideas. With idea 2 he explained he felt it would be a more difficult task creating a typeface but could be really rewarding and could be a interesting outcomes. With idea 3 he spoke about how this would relate to the visuals that I looked at in my essay and that it would be great to utilise architectural space and typography together.
Moving forward I am going to create some preliminary sketches and see how they look before deciding on which idea to take forward.
